Dear Devils Tower Lodge Family,
"I have been a sport route climber in Tennessee for several years and was looking to expand my climbing experiences and skill level. I spent a solid week climbing with Curt Love, the Lodge's AMGA guide, and I learned more in that week of climbing than I did in 3 years. We summited the first day on El Cracko, which also was my first crack climb ever. After that we summited 2 other times on Soler and Walt Bailey, built a ton or anchors, did several mock trad lead climbs, and learned some new rappel techniques. Curt was very patient and a blast to climb with. Most of the time I just sat and watched with my mouth wide open at the precision of his leads, rope skills, and ability to resolve a variety of climbing situations. I have climbed with several AMGA guides, and he was by far the best I have ever climbed with. The accommodations and food were great, and Nicole and Frank were great hosts. I look forward to the next time I can come out - I plan to bring my 8 year old son."
Andrew Dunn, Esq.

It's a wonderful thing when a sport you love brings with it the chance to connect with good friends and a special place. I was lucky enough to learn my rock climbing at Devils Tower National Monument with great teachers like Frank Sanders, Terry Rypkema and Dennis Horning.
I spent dozens of days on the rock with them and shared other days there with Joe Sears, Mark Brackin and others, including a day when my brothers, Keith and Alan, and I made a family ascent. While I don't climb at the Tower as often as I used to (nor as often as I would like) there are few spots on earth that mean as much to me. Over 20 years of friendship, memories, and adventures hover around the Tower and no matter how far I might stray from it, it will remain an anchor, a foundation in my life.
